名称与沿革[edit]
明代以前，角尾半岛一带在当地俗称“鹧鸪角”或“驼尾角”；清代广东《海防图》写作“关滘尾”。因徐闻话里“滘”“角”读音几乎一样，而“角”更易写易认，约定俗成，后来一直用“角尾”。[1]
1958至1983年为角尾生产大队，1984至1988年称角尾小乡，其间1986年定名角尾村委会；此后1989年起改设角尾管理区，到1999年成为角尾村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村里以渔业为主，据百度百科有大小机船60多艘，捕获马鲛、黄花鱼、海蜇；海水养殖以对虾和珍珠为主，旱地种番薯、花生，近年又引进生蚝养殖和泰国红椰林的产学研示范点。[2]辖区内有灯楼角、琼州海峡与北部湾的合水线以及国家级珊瑚礁自然保护区。[2]
