北草村属湛江市遂溪县江洪镇，是镇下的行政村，地处镇区与乡村相接的地带。[1]
地名由来[edit]
博雅地名网的说法是：溪的南面有北仔，溪的北面有北草，因这里的莆草长得茂盛，便以“北草”作村名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
北草原是坛头大队的一部分，1962年与博里大队合并，成为独立的北草大队。1983年起依次称管理区、村委会，1989年复称管理区，1999年定为村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
北草村在2019年9月列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单，2021年1月又被评入湛江市2020年度全市文明村。[1]
