莘田村是佛山市三水区大塘镇辖下的村民委员会，建村已有460余年。2025年3月，莘田村进入「第七届全国文明村镇」名单。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，明代有始祖从今广州市花都区的冯村迁到此地建村。村落建在草滩上，四周是沼泽，长满水寨草，“莘”字即草长之貌，村名由此而来。[1][2]

土地改革后的1951年11月，村里先组织了农民协会，1957年6月建立乡人民政府。进入公社化时期，1958年改为生产大队，1977年大队一分为三，设莘田、上坳、农岗三个管理委员会，1979年1月又成立莘田人民公社。改革开放后，1984年12月设乡生产大队，1987年设村委会，1990年设管理区办事处，1997年6月最终成立村民委员会，沿用至今。[2]
