历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，清代有村民从广东南雄迁来定居，马山头、薯田埔、根竹园三村后来都是从合水村分出的[2]。宝安县1952年分区设乡时，马山头在第七区公明乡；1963年撤区并社，它与薯田埔共组马田大队；1981年自立为马山头大队；1993年划归深圳市宝安区公明镇；2004年7月城市化改制，成立社区居委会，其后归马田街道[2]。
地名由来[edit]
相传立村时村后与村东各有一座小山头，两山连起来像一匹奔向村里的骏马，村子正处在「马头」的位置，故名马山头[3]。
地理环境[edit]
社区东邻合水口，北接薯田埔，西与根竹园相连，设三个居民小组[4]。
荣誉[edit]
2022年3月，马山头社区列入「第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区」名单[1]。
