历史沿革[edit]
“坑”在客家话里指两边被山夹住的长条山沟，客家人常以此字为山沟里的村庄命名，老坑由此得名。[3]据社区资料，1949年前辖区散布着11个自然村落，归坑梓乡管辖：其中东坑、盘古石、松子坑、三角楼、井水龙至今仍是居民小组的名称，其余为城肚、草堆岭、新乔围、新村、沙梨园、硬角围。[1]1957年坑梓乡下设秀新、龙田、金沙三个小乡；1959年夏成立国营坑梓农场。[1]
人口民族[edit]
社区现分6个居民小组（松子坑、盘古石、东坑、西坑、井水龙、三角楼）。户籍共310户，常住的户籍居民1040多人，外来暂住者近1.6万人，为数30多家的工厂是他们的主要去处。[1]
文化[edit]
2022年3月，老坑社区被深圳市住房和建设局认定为第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区；同年8月，又名列「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
