历史沿革[edit]
据村情资料，因在这片岗地上耕田的牛时常被盗，村民建起围屋用来关牛，村名由此而来。[1]1950年，这里隶属南雄县第一区的圹东乡；1954年建初级社，1955年改高级社；1958年10月改大队，属湖口公社；1983年改乡，1988年改管理区，1998年12月撤区设村委会。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
据村情资料（未注明年份），全村398户1654人，总面积2815.5亩，耕地1464亩，下设12个村小组，黄烟田1000亩，另种花生430亩和水稻164亩。[1]
