木坪村在沙溪镇的东北部，离镇区约12公里，属韶关市饮水资源保护区。[1]村名的由来是四面环山、形成平缓的冲积坪，且境内林木资源多。[1]村委会辖19个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村级政权始于1951年5月，名木坪村政府，归第一区管辖；1952年3月改称木坪乡，归马坝区。[1]人民公社时期，木坪为沙溪公社下的木坪大队（1961年3月）。撤社建乡在1983年11月，1986年12月定名木坪村委会；其间曾有一段叫木坪管理区（自1989年），1998年12月再改回村委会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网载，该村人口2120，劳动力1124人，年人均收入5809元；林地面积近6万亩，另有耕地4840亩，水田占3702亩。[1]收入主要来自农作物和毛竹，近年推广苗竹，年产苗竹约10万根、竹笋约5万公斤；又利用冬暖夏凉的气候种植山华李500多亩，另产西瓜。[1]

2019年9月，木坪村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
