东华村在沙溪镇区南面，位于京珠高速公路沙溪出口一带，距镇区约2公里，邻近南华寺。[1]名称来自早年的上东池、下东池两处，因靠近华子山而得名东华。[1]共11个村民小组，欧屋、老邹屋、付屋、麻坝子都在其中。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前村分上东池、下东池两部分。村级政权始于1951年5月，名东华村政府，归第一区管辖。[1]人民公社时期，东华为沙溪公社下的东华大队（1961年3月）。撤社建乡在1983年11月，1986年12月定名东华村委会；其间曾有一段叫东华管理区（自1989年），1998年12月再改回村委会，沿用至今。[1]
