历史沿革[edit]
湖洋在1951年设乡，1958年成为大队；1983年复为乡，1987年转为管理区，1998年定为村民委员会[1]。
经济[edit]
以传统农业为主，辅以畜牧家禽和林业，种植水稻、花生、蔬菜和桑蚕。改革开放以来引进外资约2000万元，建起8座小水电站，合计装机2800多千瓦[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2020年12月，湖洋村列入2020年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。
近年情况[edit]
湖洋村是省级乡村治理示范村。[2] 村委下的菜队村小组，村民来自各处、没有统一的姓氏；2025年7月，45位外嫁女自发回村团聚、包糍粑。[3]
