历史沿革[edit]
村名取自驻地赤草社。[1] 赤草大队设于1958年，1967年一度叫赤卫大队，1974年复用旧名。1983年12月它归入连和乡，到1987年1月才分出，设赤草村民委员会，延续到现在。[1]
经济[edit]
赤草村是2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位（2019年9月公布名单）；2024年3月评为2023年广东省卫生村；2024年11月获广州市充分就业社区（村）认定。[1]
交通[edit]
广州地铁14号线途经街口街道，并在辖区内设赤草站。[2]
