历史沿革[edit]
解放后组建农会，当时称东南郊。1953年4月组成镇郊小乡，隶属沙湾；1958年1月划归城郊乡，1959年10月改称镇街大队，转由市桥管辖。1980年称东郊大队，次年设农业管理区，1987年起由村民委员会管理[1]。
地理环境[edit]
村委会设在东沙路，村辖区面积约0.2平方千米，南临长堤路[1]。
人口民族[edit]
村总人口414人（博雅地名网所载，未注明年份）[1]。
经济[edit]
村集体经济以物业租赁为主，物业多采取发包经营；村南临长堤路，长堤路的河岸整治工程和村内「三旧」改造计划被视为提升村区位价值的因素[1]。2019年9月，东郊村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。
