棠溪社区在广州市白云区棠景街道，前身是棠溪村，棠景街道的“棠”字即取自棠溪。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据记述，南宋时有梁姓人名梁棠溪，为守母亲的墓地而定居此地，后人为纪念他，把村名定为棠溪。棠溪村建于南宋。新中国成立的1949年，它归禺北办事处；公社化时期是棠溪大队；1984年改为棠溪乡，1987年乡改村委会。到2000年村委会撤销，分设中约东、中约西两个居委会，次年二者合一，即棠溪居委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 2024年11月获评「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
