燕塘社区在广州市天河区兴华街道境内中部，辖区即燕塘地区，社区由此得名；兴华街道办事处也设在这里。[1][2]
居委会成立于1998年12月1日，辖区约0.5平方千米。据博雅地名网，社区共有3350户居民、11500人，户籍人口占3980人。[1][2]
历史沿革[edit]
社区东起燕岭路，西到盲人学校、省贸易学校、马蹄岗村一线，北边延伸到北环高速公路的交叉处，南以天鸿阁小区西围墙同兴华社区分界。[2]
社会[edit]
辖内除街道办事处外，还有燕塘企业总公司、亨氏公司、燕岭大厦，以及幼儿园、中学、卫生站、市场和活动中心，是一个综合型社区。[2] 社区党群服务中心称「燕邻家」，通过「民生微实事」推动燕兴路改造；设有「燕塘共建创享汇」议事阵地和「燕塘玲姨」银龄志愿服务品牌。[1]
社区在2021年11月获确定为广州市2021年绿色社区，2026年1月又入选广州市高质量充分就业街镇社区（村）。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
沙河东平公社旧址在燕塘，始建于1843年（道光二十三年），1908年前后（光绪末年）重修，博雅地名网称其为鸦片战争时期的重要遗址。[2] 「粤军第一师诸先烈纪念碑」在燕塘的牛眠岗，高约38米，1993年列为广州市文物保护单位，2022年升为广东省文物保护单位。[3]
