平南村为罗定市素龙街道的一个行政村，村名因村委会设在平南市而得。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

黄氏始祖秀稽于1613年迁到平南村立村，之后梁、陈、黎等姓相继迁入；现村中有黄、梁、陈、黎、傅5姓，黄姓约占38%。[2]

1613年建村，称平南，属泷水县；1911年划归罗定州；民国时期归罗定县第五区、第二区管辖；解放后初期由第五区管辖；1958年改设平南大队，归罗城公社辖；1983年撤大队改设乡，1998年恢复村委会建制，隶素龙街道。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

继祖黄公祠位于平南村，清同治十一年（1872年）建，一路二进，面阔9.8米、进深15米，为第四批罗定市文物保护单位。[3]
