城南社区位于都城镇中心区，因驻地及辖区在县城南面而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

居民委员会的数目在1950年至1989年间由5个增至11个。2001年6月改设为社区居民委员会，2005年6月撤并为5个社区。城南社区居民委员会在这次撤并中设立，由原光明社区居委会的全部区域，以及建设、四一八、新圩尾三个社区居委会的全部区域组成，此后沿用至今。[1]
