历史沿革[edit]
1949年10月此地属新兴县第四区，设河步乡；1952年改称河中乡，1955年属公平区。1958年至1960年隶集成公社，设河步大队；此后在船岗、集成两公社之间往复，1973年至1982年属船岗公社。1986年设船岗镇河步管理区，1999年定名为河步村民委员会，此后属六祖镇[1][2]。
