根溪村位于六祖镇境内。据博雅地名网，居民习惯用根竹搭寮居住，村西有一条小溪流过，村名由此而来[1]。2019年9月，根溪村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1949年10月起，此地属新兴县第四区中和乡，1954年改属公平区。1958年设集成公社的根溪大队，1983年至1986年间归集成区公所，名为中和乡。1989年起至1998年是集成镇的根溪管理区，1999年改为村委会，2004年起归六祖镇，地名沿用至今[1]。
