湾边村是河头镇下辖的行政村，村名取自湾边河附近的聚落。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年10月以前，此地属云浮河涟乡。1950年划入新兴县第五区，设湾边乡；1955年改隶天堂区，乡名不变。1958年转入河头乡，当年11月成为东风公社的湾边大队，1961年归河头公社。1983年设河头区公所下的湾边乡，1986年11月改为河头镇湾边村委会，1989年设湾边管理区，1999年改称湾边村民委员会。[1]
2024年3月，湾边村获评「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
