区村是天堂镇下辖的行政村。村子原由欧姓人开辟，欧姓人迁走后，为免人误以为“欧村”是欧姓人的村，便将“欧村”改称“区村”。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年8月，区村入选首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，产业为新兴紫米。2022年6月，区村被命名为第三批云浮市「民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]

2024年3月，区村获得2023年度广东省卫生村称号。2026年1月，区村被选为第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年前，这里隶属新兴县第五区内中乡。1953年至1955年间，村内先后组成互助组、初级社和高级社；1956年下半年设为行政村。1958年11月改设区村生产大队，1963年复设大队，1984年称区村乡，1985年改为村委会，1999年恢复村民委员会。[2]
