新溪村是广东省揭阳市普宁市南溪镇东北部的行政村，原名华溪。村子在榕江南岸，村前有洪阳河与黄坑溪汇入榕江。[1][3]

2019年3月，新溪村被认定为「第六批广东省古村落」。村中的老寨和张氏家庙是村子的主要古迹。[4]

建村与地名[edit]

1922年，张氏宗亲提议在此建会宗祠，即张氏家庙（金鉴堂），得到当时普宁县长张伍云的支持，1922年至1924年建成。1924年起，因建祠而会宗的张氏族人在此创建新溪村。[2][4]

村子临近洪阳河的一段新开凿河道，故名新溪。宗祠面对新溪的洪阳河出水口。[1][2]

古村与古迹[edit]

老寨整体呈正方形，内部为五街五座的格局，前端有广场式阳埕，阳埕前的寨墙正中设迎曦门。[4]

张氏家庙始建于民国十一年（1922年），民国十三年（1924年）落成，由数个乡共同倡议创建，是张氏会宗祠。[4]

普宁市委书记符贤2020年接受专访时介绍，村中老寨是潮汕地区的第一回形寨，村中水系发达，自然水域约3公里长。[5]

革命历史[edit]

抗日战争时期，汕头市中迁入张氏家庙办学多年。村中有游击队员多名，有村民营救过多名游击队员，村子属革命老区，是游击队开展工作的聚集地。[1]

经济与交通[edit]

村有耕地370亩，主产蕉柑，部分村民到东莞、珠海等地务工经商。村中有小学1所。水陆交通方便，有乡村公路通钟南公路。[1]

村中有一条700多米长的溪边景观绿道，沿溪有古榕、亭台。[5]

沿革[edit]

村子先前属南溪乡。公社化后的1958年，它归南溪大队；1983年时仍在南溪乡境内。1987年起设立村委会并归属南溪镇。1993年改由南溪管理区统辖。1999年独立成为新溪村民委员会，名称至今未换。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2024年4月，村子入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。2023年11月，村子入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」。[1]
