华东村在大坝镇西侧，与揭西县棉湖镇相连，距普宁市区西北方向约12.4公里。[1][2]

据百度百科，明初韦承事由福建莆田迁来开基，聚落初名“下洞”，是潮汕韦姓的主要发祥地之一。百度百科称该村1986年更名为华东村；博雅地名网则记1986年设华洞村委会，1999年改称华东村委会。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

公社化时期，本村组成华洞大队。1984年改属大坝区，设华洞乡；1986年改属大坝镇，设华洞村民委员会；1990年设管理区；1999年改设华东村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，华东村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
