东埔村位于流沙南街道东面约2.7公里处，广汕公路从村中穿过，是革命老区。[1][2]

地名与沿革[edit]

清乾隆二十八年（1763年），黄姓的一支从福建迁来定居，最初这块地方叫乐埔仔，后改名东埔。1960年称东埔大队，1990年称东埔管理区，1999年改为东埔村委会，此名沿用至今。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

全村有1554户，人口7400人，耕地220亩。[2]

村中有75%以上的劳动力从事二、三产业，服装加工是主导产业。村子东边是服装加工区，西边设鱼肉菜综合市场，北面有中河开发区。[1][2]

村民精工制作豆干，已有200多年历史，成品以皮嫩肉香为特点。村内有企业90家，主要生产服装、家具、印花等产品。[2]

2020年9月，东埔村入选「2020年淘宝村」名单；2021年10月入选「2021年淘宝村」；2022年10月入选「2022年淘宝村」。[1]
