新寮村是东港镇的行政村，村域由新华、旺寮两个自然村构成，距县城35公里，村民以农业为主。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明末清初，吕姓一支自海丰潭冲村来此立村，村称旺寮；之后曾、林、肖、胡、陈、杨等姓相继迁入。1989年设管理区，两村各取一字，改名新寮。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1973年东港设公社后，新华、旺寮两村合为旺寮大队；1983年起设为乡政府。1987年两村又合并成立旺寮村委会，1989年改为新寮管理区，1999年改为新寮村委会至今。[1]
