后山村是广东省揭阳市惠来县溪西镇下辖的行政村，位于镇区西北部，在龙江河中游南岸，西与大南山华侨农场相接，村名取自祖籍潮阳的后坑。[1][2]

地理与人口[edit]

村委会驻后山自然村，此外还有塘田、油甘坑两处自然村。全村人口5526人（未注年份），土地6.1平方千米。耕地1656亩，水田1067亩，旱园589亩；另有山地2600亩。[1]

村中水果种植面积2000多亩，年产量达185多吨，以荔枝、龙眼、桃、李等为主。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

此地原先由杨、李、王几姓先后落户，因多为土丘，俗称蛇地，故称蛇地埔。万历年间陈氏自潮阳后坑迁入，他姓陆续离去，此后全村均为陈姓，乃取祖籍的首字为名。[2]

明崇祯八年（1635年），陈氏三世祖兄弟四人自潮阳后坑迁居于此，念及祖籍而命名后山。[2]

新中国成立后村曾称乡，并办过初级社、高级社；1958年至1983年改称大队，1983年至1986年为后山乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年改为村委会。[2]

革命历史[edit]

三个自然村都是革命老区。1947年10月，后山乡设立地下武装队；1948年，三村各自设立了村政府及农会、民兵。[1]

名胜与文化[edit]

村中有李姑娘亭，为纪念明末清初一位李氏女子而建，被视为先烈古迹。清乾隆年间村中开始设秋千，欢度元宵的习俗延续至今。[1]

塘田自然村在70年代初曾设汕头地区供销学校，当地供销社一度为全国商业系统的先进典型，珠江电影制片厂也曾以此拍摄纪录片《财贸新风》。塘田卷章是本村有名的肉制品，风味独特。[1]

经济与设施[edit]

村内有两座小二型水库，即朱厝坑水库与油甘坑水库；县中型水库尖官陂的总灌渠也从村中穿过。省道葵和公路穿村而过，村落密集，商贸活跃。村中有小学一所，教职工16人，在校学生748人。2001年，村被评为惠来县文明单位。[1]
