新溪村在塔头镇西部，由柑园、连桐、新队、鹅毛溪、新兴围五个自然村组成。村内的鹅毛溪是鹅毛溪战役的所在地，现立有许继烈士纪念碑。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

许继（韩江纵队大队长）于1946年1月3日在鹅毛溪燕子岩一带牺牲。[2] 1999年起改称新溪村委会，至今未变。[1]

2019年9月，新溪村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1] 2024年3月，新溪村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域是革命老区，经济上以农林业为主，山地广阔，林业资源丰富，冬瓜种植也逐渐扩大。[1]
