坪上村位于玉湖镇东北部的山区，东与潮安县接壤，北与丰顺县毗邻，是玉湖镇有名的绿茶专业村。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

全村总人口6747人，共1477户；面积四十多平方千米，耕地683.2亩，山地5.5万亩，资料年份未注明。[1][2]

经济[edit]

博雅地名网概况页称，村里绿茶种植面积已达2.5万亩，茶叶加工作坊有200多家，茶叶种植加工的年总收入约8000万元，该页未注明年份。坪上绿茶已通过国家无公害农产品认证，商标也已注册。[2]

2009年村民人均收入为5271元。[1]

2020年11月，坪上村被农业农村部认定为「第十批全国一村一品示范村镇」，主要产品是炒茶。2021年10月，它入选「2021年全国乡村特色产业亿元村」；2023年3月，又被推介为「2022年全国乡村特色产业产值超亿元村」。[1]

在广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单中，坪上村于2019年9月上榜。[1]

2024年政府工作报告把坪上村列为玉湖镇重点打造的示范村、典型村之一。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

明崇祯年间建村，初称坪上。民国时属揭阳县蓝清乡，新中国成立后划入新亨区，设坪上乡。1958年村子成为新亨公社的坪上大队；1962年改由玉湖公社管辖；1983年成为玉湖区的坪上乡；1986年设村委会。[1]
