城西村位于广东省揭阳市揭东区磐东街道内，地处揭阳市区西部，旧名盘傤陈村，是揭阳市五金产业的发源地。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地属揭阳县磐溪都，原名盘傤陈。1951年起以城西乡为名；1958年设磐东公社城西大队；1983年改为磐东区城西乡；1986年设村委会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

五金是村庄的支柱产业，也是磐东街道两大支柱产业之一。据博雅地名网，城西人在清朝初期即开始打铁，小五金的生产延续至今，产品种类日渐丰富。[1][2]

揭阳市把城西村确定为社会主义新农村建设的示范点，时间是2007年。[2]

文化[edit]

城西村获得「第一批广东省卫生村」称号，授予方是广东省爱国卫生运动委员会，时间为2017年10月。[1]

城西村列入2020年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单，时间为2020年12月。[1]

2022年1月，城西村经广东省乡村振兴局确认，成为2021年广东省乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1]
