美西村北临榕江南河，村内有数条主干道，沿路多为二三产业的工业园区，属仙桥街道的主城区村。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村域面积1400多亩，居民6450人，共1168户，现设3个经联社。[1]

经济[edit]

百分之九十五以上的居民户从事五金行业，主要是塑料制鞋、轧钢、旧机械改装，以及钢材收旧利废。集体经济纯收入200多万元；另外，人均纯收入为5900元，2008年工农总产值达8亿多元。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村史可上溯到1950年的十五区安北乡。1958年，村子隶属安乐公社高美大队；1971年又被拆分，划归田东西马大队。1983年设美西乡，同属仙桥区；1986年成立美西村委会。[1]

文化[edit]

市委与区委曾多次表彰本村为先进基层党组织。村子还是农村基层固本强基工程的示范点，并获市妇联授予美德在农村活动示范点称号。[2]

「广东省卫生村」（2023年）的称号于2024年3月授予本村。[1]
