新乡村为潮安区凤塘镇所辖的行政村，为片村，含新乡、玉井和沈畔三个自然村，位于镇政府驻地西南约5千米处，又称淇头新乡。[1][2]

建村与名称[edit]

1911年，原淇头人、旅泰华侨郑智勇独资创建此村，村名由此而来，简称新乡。[1]

建筑与教育[edit]

村中建筑多为贝灰砖木结构的中西式建筑。村内有以郑智勇命名的智勇中学，并设小学一所。[1]

新乡仁美里由郑智勇于1911年出资建造，位于淇园村西面，包括海筹公祠、荣禄第、后楼和智勇高等小学校旧址等。2019年4月19日，被公布为第九批广东省文物保护单位。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，新乡村入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村」创建单位名单。[1]
