凤塘社区为潮安区凤塘镇所辖的社区，为凤塘镇人民政府驻地，也是原来大埕、东门、南门三个管理区的驻地。社区名称取自“凤地”，即周围溪塘环绕的地势。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南宋绍兴年间（1131年至1162年）此地创乡，此后陈、黄、周、谢等姓陆续定居。1999年，凤塘社区居委会成立，至今仍用此名。[1][2]

经济[edit]

社区有耕地三千余亩，以水稻、甘薯为主，兼种柑、荔枝和瓜菜，并盛产塘鱼。乌叶荔枝以色艳、肉厚、味美著称。[1]
