城西街道是广东省潮州市湘桥区下辖的街道，位于潮州城区西部，名称由此而来。[1][3]

街道辖区既有城区的居民社区，也有城乡结合部的行政村，韩江中的仙洲岛同样在其内。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，辖区各村分属潮安县的三个乡：新合、吉街、厦寺、上埔、上洲与下洲归南厢乡，北关和七圣归北厢乡，古美则归登云乡。新中国成立之初，北关与新合并入城关镇的北关办事处，古美划入潮安六区，余下的乡村属第一区。[2]

1953年，厦寺和七圣的宫后村改归潮州市，其他乡村仍留在潮安县。1958年11月潮州市建制取消后，这一带改由潮安县枫溪区管辖；1959年7月组建潮州镇郊公社，由潮州镇统辖。[2]

1979年8月，镇郊公社更名为城西公社。此后1983年12月称城西区，1987年1月才定名城西街道。1992年，街道划归湘桥区。[2]

行政区划[edit]

街道下辖10个社区和10个行政村。其中熙泰社区于2016年由湘桥区人民政府批准设立，是这十个社区中最晚设立的一个。[1][5]

地理环境[edit]

仙洲岛位于城西街道，被誉为「韩江明珠」。据百度百科，岛上环岛碧道及风貌提升项目的目标，是建成一座湿地公园，兼顾生态保护、休闲游览与景观营造。[4]
