沙口社区位于小榄镇东部，离镇政府约2.5公里，面积约1.6平方公里。东边临着沙口水道，105国道由南向北穿过辖区，是镇内交通的要冲。户籍人口在5千人以上。[1]

地名的来历，博雅地名网的解释是：此地位于小榄水道东侧的河口，水流放缓后泥沙在此淤积，故称沙口。2021年12月，社区被认定为「2021年度中山市绿色社区」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此处起初是小榄公社的一处农场。1962年分设沙口大队，此后于1984年改为沙口乡，1986年成立沙口村委会，1990年又称沙口管理区。[1]

文化[edit]

隐秀寺是村内主要的民间信仰场所，始建于清乾隆年间，2008年重建，供奉佛教诸佛。圆榄山海拔46.34米，由花岗岩构成，别名圆峰、紫驼、龟山和座鼓峰。社内还有桂子社和莲子社两座社头，供奉土地神。[1]
