东海社区位于东凤镇，居民多经积分、投资、购房或人才引进等途径落户，被称为「新东凤人」。2023年4月，凤仪社区从本社区划出后，东海社区涵盖21个花园小区。[1]

关于设立时间，博雅地名网的概况页写作2008年10月成立，历史沿革一栏则注明该居委会于2007年4月设立，两种说法并存。[1]

社区户籍家庭6085户，人口18847人，另有常住人口逾7万。[2]

文化[edit]

社区开展了「同心园·邻里学堂」与「红心公益便民巡回服务」等活动品牌。社区获中山市「最聚人气同心园」称号，还被评为示范性老年友好型社区、「最美志愿服务社区」（十大之一）以及慈善示范社区。2019年9月，社区进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位的名单。[1][2]
