沙涌村位于广东省中山市南区街道的东部，原属沙涌一带，现属良都社区，辖区面积约2平方公里。[1][2][3]

村内有宋帝遗迹牌坊、镇龙阁、文昌塔等古迹，又是中山的华侨古村，先施百货创办人马应彪与宋末的马南宝都与此地有关。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

沙涌村由沙涌与上塘两个自然村组成。百度百科称其南宋嘉泰三年（1203年）已有马姓先祖迁居此地，因村旁河涌多沙而得名沙涌。[1]

中山日报的报道称该村有900余年历史。该村自南宋起属香山县仁厚乡，历经明清的行政调整，2014年后归入良都社区。[2][1]

人口与村貌[edit]

百度百科的统计为2005年时常住1655人，计499户；厂房合计61566平方米。[1]

村内有93座侨房，其中包括马公纪念堂，堂前有一元堂、南源堂与妇儿院三座建筑。妇儿院兴建于1933年，此前曾作为女校使用，此后又改作妇幼保健院，再之后的一段时间是沙涌先施学校，2003年起改作沙涌幼儿园。[2]

沙涌历史文化街区形成于清末民初，巷道呈鱼骨状，面积约15.97公顷。博雅地名网称沙涌历史文化街区为广东省历史文化街区。[2][3]
