后山社区位于西区街道南部，紧靠马山东面，与石岐隔岐江河相望。东临岐江河，南至富华道，北至岐港路与彩虹大道。社区因背靠马山而得名[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后山还属长洲乡，1951年冬分出，设立后山乡，1963年改设后山大队。其后曾改为乡或管理区。1998年8月起称后山村委会，2002年4月才定为后山社区居委会[2]。1988年6月，它划归西区办事处[3]。

人口与经济[edit]

百度百科记，社区2023年底常住人口为13266人，其中户籍9956人，下辖12个住宅小区，并包括上闸自然村[1]。博雅地名网概况页则记2007年总人口3799人，户籍2299人，辖东村、后山、上闸、下闸、新村5个自然村，共8个居民小组、535户[3]。

村改居后，社区以物业出租为主要经营方式，2008年物业经营收入479万元，经济收入793.94万元。2002年动工的安居工程「彩虹花园」，于2003年12月竣工使用，共24幢，占地100亩[3]。

文化与荣誉[edit]

社区内的后山小学1963年自长洲小学分出，2008年9月并入新建的西区中心小学[3]。

博雅地名网记，社区于2022年9月被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」，2004年10月被评为省卫生村，1992年被评为抗日战争时期革命老区[2][3]。
