井美村位于东坑镇中心，多条镇内主干道穿村而过。村名据博雅地名网来自村中一眼大泉井，村方以「井」字文化为特色。[1][3]

地名与沿革[edit]

博雅地名网称，井美原名井尾。村中有一眼大泉井，泉水清凉甘美，「尾」「美」谐音，于是改称井美。[3]

立村年代，博雅地名网两处记载不一：一处作明嘉靖元年（1522年），由谢氏后裔自草塘迁入；另一处作明嘉靖年间（1552年）立村。两说并列。[2][3]

1999年改为村委会。[2]

现状[edit]

据东坑镇政府网，村域占地约1.77平方公里，2025年末户籍人口计2930名，外来人口约1.2万。[1]

港台及民营企业近40家聚于村中，制造业以塑胶、电子和五金机械为多。2025年，集体资产4.99亿元，总收入4104万元，纯收入2625万元。[1]

文物与人文[edit]

村内保存较完整的五十年代标志性建筑井美会堂；镇级文物保护单位沙井头；东莞市不可移动文物文昌阁。[1]

村方以「井」字文化为核心挖掘人文历史，希望打造东莞市首批特色精品村。[1]
