新门楼村位于东坑镇中部，东邻塔岗村，西接井美村，南与东坑村相连，北面隔路与凤大村相望。村内以工业为主，有连塘、油草岭、大埔、沙陂四个工业区。[1]

博雅地名网记载，新门楼村在明代嘉靖年间立村，村名即取「新门楼」之意。[4]

村内谢、卢、周、刘四姓并存。博雅地名网称，谢姓较早在此立村，卢姓始祖卢运通在南宋末年由南雄珠玑巷迁入。[2]

百度百科记该村位于东坑镇中心区域，面积约1.23平方千米。[3]

据东坑镇政府网，村地处丘陵，平均海拔26米，村内最高点为新围独岭。登记户籍的有1915人，外来人口则接近两万五千。[1]
