六甲村位于横沥镇东部，毗邻常平镇，全村占地约1.5平方千米。村子南面距常平火车站约15分钟车程，北面的东部快线与从莞高速出入口，驱车约10分钟可达。[1]

村内户籍人口1261人，393户，常住人口约8000余人。辖区内企业与小作坊约130家，规模以上企业16家，主要生产模具、五金、玩具和电子产品。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋朝官员查黔辖的二世祖长子子明，于元大德十一年（1307年）迁到此地定居，村因此称六甲村。[2]

1953年，六甲与村头等村一并组成村沥乡。之后的1958年成为六甲生产大队，1983年设为六甲乡，1987年改设管理区，1999年才改为村委会。[2]

经济[edit]

2025年村集体总资产约1.23亿元，总收入1201万元。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村先后获评「市文化建设先进村」「市容环境优美村」「广东省卫生村」，并获得「全国示范农家书屋」称号。[1]
