铁岗村在企石镇东部，隔一条河与博罗县相望，东边与桥头镇接壤，据称南宋末年已有村落。[1]
村辖区面积约3.8平方千米，分为9个村民小组，常住人口2357人，另有外来人口约2756人。村庄在2006年获得「广东省卫生村」称号，2023年4月，铁岗村在一批乡村治理示范村的创建名单之中。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村庄立于南宋末年，1949年10月设农民协会。1951年，铁岗、深巷、湖美、博夏四地组成共和乡，次年单设铁岗乡。1955年办起低级农业合作社，翌年升为高级社。[1]
1958年9月改为铁岗人民公社，编成营、连、排；1961年改为生产队，1985年设铁岗乡人民政府，1988年改为管理区，1999年7月定名铁岗村村委。[1]
