向西村位于石排镇东面，北面紧邻东江，与惠州市博罗县园洲镇隔江相望。全村面积约1.98平方公里，四邻之中，东面是赤坎村，南面是黄家壆村，西面连着水贝的李屋一带。[1][2]
村名因村中房屋门户朝西而得。村内有市三级古树木棉一棵，以及民国时期的广府民居，1959年组建民娱组，即后来的曲艺社。2025年村总资产17778万元。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
政府网站称，向西村始建于元代，因房屋门户朝西而得名。博雅地名网则记为明末立村，两说并存。[1][2]
人口与经济[edit]
村内户籍1312人，外来者约两万人。截至2025年末，村里企业逾130家，行业涵盖新能源、玻璃、电子、塑料、五金等。[1]2025年资产总值约1.78亿元，经营收入约2587万元，收益737万元。[1]
文物与文化[edit]
村里有树龄百年的木棉树一棵，为东莞市三级古树。传统民居属广府民居，多为民国时期建造的红砖、青砖瓦房，村中一口古井的井口原为八卦形。[1]村中流传《叶氏族谱》，纂修时间与纂修者不详。[1]1959年村里组建民娱组，改革开放后更名为曲艺社。[1]
