兴塘社区是东莞市莞城街道下辖的社区，2003年7月1日成立，位于莞城、东城、南城三地交界的商业文化中心地段。社区东侧到东城中路，南边以旗峰路旗峰广场为界，西边到元岭路，北边到东纵大道。[1][2]
社区由“村改居”形成，属城乡混合型社区。居民小组共六个，其中戙船澳与白沙塘之外，另有东平、汇峰、东安、聚福。[1][2]

据街道网站，社区辖区面积2.63平方千米，有户籍居民6715户，户籍人口27021人。流动人口32484人，其中居住在本社区的25313人，从业者7535人。百度百科所载户籍人口为25065人，流动人口为39804人，两处数字不同，此处取街道网站所载。[1][3]
商圈与地标[edit]
社区位于东纵商圈，以汇峰中心为首的写字楼林立，大型商业中心有地王广场、中天大厦和万科城市广场。社区毗邻东莞八景之一的黄旗山公园。[1]
党建[edit]
党工委于2013年12月设立，党委则在2020年11月设立，2022年6月成立“大党委”。社区共设9个党支部，其中在职党支部1个，退休党支部8个，并协管6个「两新」组织联合党支部。[1]
文化与荣誉[edit]
社区有传统的兴塘醒狮队，以及诗词文化品牌东糖诗社，每年以群兴文化节带动文化活动。[1]
社区先后获「广东省宜居社区」「省六好平安和谐社区」等称号，并获评「东莞市绿色社区」「市文明社区」。[1]
