西江镇是广东省清远市连州市下辖的镇，位于连州市东南部。东面和南面与阳山县的黄坌镇、小江镇相望，西北与龙坪镇接壤，国道323线穿镇而过，距连州市区约26千米。镇政府驻连州市西江镇中心路50号，全镇下辖11个行政村。[1][2][4]

全镇面积的数字各家不一：博雅地名网记为210.3平方千米，百度百科记为185.33平方千米。人口方面，百度百科引用2019年末户籍人口18584人，博雅地名网则称总人口约1.8万人。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，镇名原作「西岗」。因地势较高，附近没有江河，人们盼水，便取谐音把西岗改称西江。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国初年，此地出现集市，雅称西江墟。1956年以前属阳山县，此后划归连县。1961年设西江人民公社，1984年先改为区，1987年再由区改为乡，直至1993年2月才撤乡建镇。[1]

博雅地名网的历史页另有一说，称1992年4月黄里、白莲、大沟三乡连同原西江镇并入本镇。其所载户数、人口与民族数字与本镇其他资料不符，本条目未采用。[6]

经济[edit]

镇内储有粗晶大理石、硅灰石、汉白玉大理石和优质石灰石等非金属矿产，主要分布在大东山岩体西侧。博雅地名网称，当地粗晶大理石矿原矿的碳酸钙含量与白度多在98%以上，并称西江镇为「广东省碳酸钙之乡」。[2]

近年，镇里以碳酸钙加工为主发展建材化工业，产品有轻质、重质碳酸钙和超细材料。据博雅地名网概况所载，全镇17家企业每年可生产碳酸钙系列产品约25万吨。[2]

2017年全镇的农业总产值为2.6297亿元，工业总产值为4.2234亿元，固定资产投资为1.8066亿元，招商引资到位1.7574亿元。[1]

乡村振兴[edit]

2026年，西江镇借「我们村（社区）的新征程」专题活动，收集群众意见建议112条，编制五年发展计划，确定「山上农业、山下工业」的总体定位，推动村与村组团联动发展，并实行「一年一台账」的推进机制。[5]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇政府网站所载，大岭村正利用游击旧址与南坪古村，策划研学和观光线路；斜磅村有千年银杏和红枫谷，高山村有千年红豆杉。各村的详情见其本条目。[5]
