黄竹村属广东省英德市水边镇，是镇东部的行政村，与连江口镇接壤。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年前后这里称黄竹乡。1958年一分为二，设黄竹、黄岭两个大队，1962年又合为黄竹大队。1983年设黄竹乡政府，1986年改称村委会，1990年成为管理区办事处，1997年迁入水边圩，1998年10月7日才定名为黄竹村委会。[1]

村名的由来，是原先此地遍生黄竹林。[1]

博雅地名网载，全村幅员约28平方公里，耕地3443.74亩，其中约54%种植果树和笋竹，辖24个村民小组。该网站还载，2013年全村人均纯收入为7100元。[1]

基础设施[edit]

2024年，上围移民组修通了一条长1466米、宽2.5米的混凝土路，总投资106万元，是水边镇当年的民生实事项目之一。路通后，农用车可直接开到田头，此前雨季进山困难、农产品运不出去的状况有了改观。[2]

荣誉[edit]

黄竹村在2021年12月被评为「2021年广东省卫生村」。[1]
