西联村是西牛镇下辖的行政村，位于镇东北角，紧邻西牛镇圩，下辖20个村民小组。全村998户、4746人，农作物以蚕桑、水稻和沙糖桔为多。[1]

地名由来[edit]

西联村由原联合乡与西联乡合并而成，取两乡名称中各一字命名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1956年前后，此地有联合农业社和西联农业社两个农业合作组织。1958年组建西联生产大队，1983年设西联乡政府。1986年改称西联村委会，1990年改设西联管理区，1998年10月7日又定名西联村委会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

村委会每年固定收入约8万元，主要来自出租集体所有的2000亩山地、40亩鱼塘和旧村委办公楼。蚕桑是最大的种植项目，约3000亩；水稻种在约1000亩田里，沙糖桔与麻竹笋分别约800亩和300亩。[2]

村内有两间火山灰场，火山灰的储量据称在5000万吨以上，是英德市内最大的集中储量区，可用于研磨材料、涂料和水泥填充料等。[2]

2026年，村里1000多亩旱地经改造变为水田，全部流转给农业公司规模化经营。另有一家农业科技公司流转水田，采用早播模式种植。西牛镇还在村内划出富硒优质水稻的核心区。[3]

文化[edit]

2026年1月，西联村被评为「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」。张屋村经广东省爱卫会评定，于2023年5月获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
