历史沿革[edit]
旧称搭桥。村中有条小溪，村民在溪上架桥以便出入，当地话里「搭」即是「架」的意思。解放后设乡，改名为桥新。[1]
1952年，桥新与蓢新分开，设为乡。之后先后设大队与乡政府，1986年起为村委会，1990年为管理区，1998年10月起再为村委会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
全村面积14.3平方千米，耕地三千余亩，水田约1300亩，旱地约1700亩。[1]
经济[edit]
村中有丰富的石灰岩矿产资源，村内设有多家工业企业，涉及水泥、电力与有机硅等行业。[1]
人口民族[edit]
村里设一个党总支，下辖11个党支部，正式党员133人，另有预备党员3人。[1]
文化[edit]
2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予桥新村「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]
