金光村属连南瑶族自治县（广东省清远市）寨岗镇，位于镇政府东北面，离镇政府约3公里，离县城约29公里。[1]

此地先叫「马鞍」，后写作「马安」，1961年组建人民公社时改为「金光」，有金光大道的意思。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

旧时此地属阳山。民国二十九年（1940年）为马安甲，归寨岗乡二保；1949年12月编为六村，仍归寨岗乡。[1]

1953年划归连南，设马安小乡，归第四区；1961年设金光生产大队；1983年改为金光乡，归寨岗区；1986年改称金光村，归寨岗镇；1988年成为管理区，1999年另立金光村民委员会。[1]

2024年3月，村子被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」；广东省爱国卫生运动委员会授予村子「第一批广东省卫生村」称号，时间是2017年10月。[1]
