城西村是三江镇下辖的行政村，地处县城西郊，管辖梅村、盛平、南钟、永接四个自然村。[1]村名的来历与三江口的两座寨城有关：康熙四十四年（1705年）在今城西村一带建成老城，乾隆六年（1742年）又在县城三江中心小学一带建成新城，老城位于新城以西，故称城西。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清乾隆年间，此地已称城西。民国时期它属连县高良上乡，1949年底辖永中堂（永接）、南钟、盛平、梅村四个行政村。[2]1951年9月，这四村合为城西乡，归连县第四区管辖。[2]

1953年后，此地先是城西农业生产合作社（1956年，归三江镇辖），再是城西大队（1958年，属三江公社）。[2]1961年10月，城西与梅村分设两个大队，1963年2月又合为城西大队。[2]

1983年冬改设城西乡，1987年5月乡改为城西村委会，1989年10月村委会改为城西管理区，1999年4月起称城西村民委员会，此后仍属三江镇。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有九隍庙墓群，占地2600平方米，1963年曾发掘墓葬四十余座，多为长方形券顶的砖室墓。[1]

荣誉[edit]

「第一批广东省卫生村」称号，是广东省爱国卫生运动委员会在2017年10月授予城西村的。[1]「2023年广东省卫生村」称号则于2024年3月授予城西村。[1]
