新溪村位于福堂镇的西部，离镇政府约3公里。[1] 村名取原新生、肖溪两村委会各一字。[4] 村内有清代建筑杨愈将故居，为广东省文物保护单位。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄的前身可追溯到1955年的新溪乡；此后历经大队、管理区等阶段，1999年分为肖溪、新生两个村委会，2004年两者合并，定名新溪村委会。[1][3]

人口与产业[edit]

村委会辖17个自然村，人口2469人，以杨、唐、苏、张、韦、李等姓为多。[1] 耕地3422亩，水田约2050亩，林地约2万亩。[1] 村民收入以水稻、生姜、林业为主，兼营家畜、三鸟、鱼和竹笋等。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

杨愈将故居位于新溪村委会五村，属客家围楼风格，平面为三进两井的格局，面积约一千平方米，距今约200年。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予六芦村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
