大坳村位于秤架瑶族乡东北部，距乡政府驻地约37公里，东面为乳阳林业局五指山林场。全村面积约88.32平方千米，辖4个村民小组，共112户636人，全部为少数民族人口。[1]

与秤架村相邻的是本村南侧，太平洞村在北，炉田村则在西侧。全村平均海拔约1350米，广东第一峰位于村辖区内。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1940年设保，此后经乡政府、生产大队、管理区等阶段，1999年3月改为村委会，沿用至今。[2]

1966年，本村与太平洞一道划入乳源林业局，1969年回到秤架。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，大坳村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

产业[edit]

村民以种水稻为主，兼种蕃薯。村内有3座小水电，总装机3500千瓦；林地面积957公顷，活立木蓄积量21万立方米。[1]

村中土特产有冬菇、山茶和山楂。[3]
