该村所在地1940年设保，之后经乡政府、生产大队、管理区等建制，1999年3月定为村委会，沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

2019年，水井村委会白芒片的0.4平方千米连片土地完成整治整合。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，水井村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；同年12月，该村入选第一批国家森林乡村名单。[1]
